The effects of inflation are hurting the bottom half of the US population, as measured by income. Another 25% say they are just covering their monthly expenses. For this reason, we have a negative view of the prospects for the retail sector over the next year or so. We do not expect a disaster like the financial crisis. Instead, we expect a malaize of a slow drip lower.
