Does Off-Exchange Trading Get Tracked?

The technology that goes into trading is intriguing and changing rapidly. The days of people trading with people are over, and now it is machine to machine.

Some of this trading activity occurs on traditional exchanges such as the NYSE, American Stock Exchange, and the NASDAQ. In today’s video, Mike will discuss a trading activity that takes place “off-exchange. “Off-exchange” trading is quite common and may represent nearly 50% of volume on any given day. However, off-exchange doesn’t mean off-the-record. Trades that occur off-exchange are still subject to trading, reporting, and settlement rules as on-exchange trading.
