Stocks have been on the run ever since the Covid crash. To help people and companies out, the Fed Gov made helicopter drops of cash on anyone who stuck their hand out. The government did not have the money to do this, of course. So they went to the Fed for a loan. The Fed funded the government's wants with a bout of quantitative easing on steroids by the Fed.
