COVID-19 Catches up to Eurasia. Eurasia will be catching up with the COVID-19 curve in terms of infections and mitigation measures. While Russia and most other Eurasian countries have so far witnessed only limited COVID-19 outbreaks within their territories, numbers have been growing and governments have started to ramp up efforts to contain the spread.

Economic Paralysis and Political Debate in Europe. The final week of March will find Europe almost paralyzed, as quarantine measures and border closures have ground the Continent virtually to a halt. B

Asia-Pacific as Gauge of COVID-19. As the virus’ point of origin, the Asia-Pacific region is ahead of the rest of the world in terms of the evolution of the outbreak. As such, the world will be looking closely at its worst affected countries as a crude gauge for the future.

Sub-Saharan Africa Wakes up to COVID-19. Although it took a while, the COVID-19 outbreak is now spreading through Africa. Several hotspots have emerged, including South Africa and Senegal.

COVID-19 Continues to Rage in Iran, Potential Progress on a Government in Israel. The COVID-19 outbreak will continue to take its most serious regional toll in Iran, where Persian New Year celebrations in the coming week will be nearly nonexistent as the country struggles to rein in its still-rising death toll.
