We have been watching the dollar with particular interest as we think it has an important message to play in the performance of various asset classes around the world. We wish we had the data to make judgments about currency flows, but this is the purview of a select group of huge institutional investors. They have the capacity to collect data from hundreds of sources or if they have a big enough FX trading operation, they and glean some insights from what their customers (both real economy and market speculators) are doing in aggregate.
