The semiconductor companies are some of the most important companies in the world economy today. When microprocessors first came out, their use was limited to computers, phones, and TVs. Control systems generally used specialize logic chips. It was not long before microprocessors were used in building the internet, running our cars and game consoles for the kids to play. Now, microprocessors, memory and/or logic chips, end up in virtually every product we buy today, even simple products like refrigerators.
