Time Is Ticking for White House Trade Pragmatists. U.S. President Donald Trump has raised the chances of a full-out trade war by threatening not just one, but two rounds of additional tariffs on $200 billion worth of Chinese goods if Beijing retaliates when U.S. tariffs on $50 billion worth of Chinese goods comes into effect July 6.
