Yesterday, the equity markets fell hard. The S&P500 was down $35.73 points (1.34%). the NASDAQ was down $121.25 points (1.7%), and the DJIA was down $424.56 points (1.74%). The surprise "outperformer" was the Russell 2000, which is an index smaller capitalization stocks. It was down just 8.84 points or 0.57%. Equally as interestingly, the VIX did not seem to care rising 0.44% to 18.46% which is equal to its long-term average.
