Shopify (SHOP) has been a wall street darling ever since it went public in May of 2015. The company provides a cloud-based multi-channel commerce platform for small and medium-sized businesses in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia. Its platform provides merchants with a single window through which they can manage and understand the performance of their business and activities of their customers throughout of all their sales channels. Those channels might include Web and mobile storefronts, physical retail locations, social media storefronts, and marketplaces.

In addition, their tools enable their customers to manage products and inventory, process orders and payments, fulfill and ship orders, build customer relationships. The company's tools also provide the necessary analytics and reporting features that help merchants manage their business. Last but not least, they also help their customers get access to financing.

The company was founded in 2004 and was formerly known as Jaded Pixel Technologies Inc. and changed its name to Shopify Inc. in November 2011 and is headquartered in Ottawa, Canada.
