On 16-January-2018 we published an update on the precious metals, gold, silver, platinum, and palladium. At that time, the price behavior of these commodities was quite muted. Just as there was little volatility in stocks, there is was little volatility in the PMs. The big difference between the two was that equities were delivering nice returns without a worry in sight. The PM, on the other hand, were more mixed.
