The Pain in Spain Might Send Your Money Down the Drain

The country of Spain is in chaos and it does not look like the political turmoil will end anytime soon. Catalan has voted for its succession and independence for the mother country. When you push through all the noise, the real issue here is about self-determination, and the history, culture, language Catalan which is different from Spain. As we understand it, the people of Catalan do not feel they are treated fairly by the national government. Catalan is the economic engine of the country, so their tax money goes to subsidize the rest of the country. They also feel the national government has made a mess of the economy. In addition, its history, culture, and heritage make them different from the Spanish. Furthermore, they speak a different language. It is not surprising that the citizens there want to govern themselves.
