What will cause the next bear market? Virtually every day, there is a conversation on the various financial media TV shows (CNBC, Bloomberg TV, Fox Business, etc.) where guests and moderators speculate on what will cause the next bear market and or economic recession. The conversation does not end there. There is a host of websites that seem to talk about gloom and doom on a daily basis. Evidently selling fear is a profitable business. These websites seem to get a lot of advertisers enabling these folks to keep this narrative alive. We like to read the material produced by the main streams and not so mainstream media from time to time, simply because we want to know what other people and the "crowd" might be thinking. It helps us with making a judgment on sentiment and helps us identify the "crowded trade." We rarely want to be in the same trade that everyone else is in. After all, if everyone has bought, who is left to buy?
