As the flood waters from Hurricane Harvey dissipates and the human tragedy fades from memory, people will focus on rebuilding their lives, homes, and businesses. The size of the disaster is one for the record books and the rebuilding effort seems almost insurmountable. Texan's are independent, can do people, and we have every confidence that in time, they will combine hard work, community, and innovation and get on with their lives. As the rebuilding process gets underway, there are sure to be main stream economists, financial commentators and investment analysts/strategists will argue that the hurricane has some hidden blessing. They will argue that Harvey is, in fact, good for the economy. But nothing could be further from the truth.
