For the second week in a row, the VIX has made a new all time low. Closing last week at 9.36. There are some very noteable companies that are annoucing earnings this week and it is suggested by Guy Adami from CNBC that this indicates that these earnings could move the market more than people think; with this past week being the calm before the storm. Companies like $GOOGL, $FB, and $AMZN will announce and these companies tend to move the markets during earnings.
What to Watch for this Week
- Reporting of the second quarter GDP will be important, but not until the end of the week.
- The Fed’s monetary policy decision and statement, but do not expect anything new.
- Big company earnings report are due. Potential to move the market.
- OPEC and Russia Collusion supports oil prices. Will it hold?
