AFL operates through two segments, Aflac Japan and Aflac U.S. The Aflac U.S. segment provides insurance products designed to protect individuals from depletion of assets because of a comprising accident and critical illness (cancer, broken bones or other debilitating health issues) and loss-of-income products, such as life and short-term disability plans. They also offer hospital indemnity, fixed-benefit dental, and vision care plans.
